Blackpool Smile is a self help group dedicated to helping and supporting people with a chronic pain condition in the Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre area. We are a registered No 1011675.

Many of our group have fibromyalgia.
>
> Our group is run by chronic pain sufferers.
>
> Many of us have completed a course with the PMP and recognise the benefits of getting together with like minded people and the importance of movement, socialising and practical skills we learnt on the course.
>
> We have a fitness coach, Cath Hopkinson, who visits us twice a month. Her classes are adapted for us and we do our best to keep up with her without falling about ( mostly due to laughing )!
>
> Once a month we enjoy seated yoga with Deborah Hopkinson (no relation).

Recently Colin Rogers came to show us some Tai Chi which our members thoroughly enjoyed and he has kindly agreed to come to us once a month for more of this gentle exercise.

Reiki Master Jason McCulloch is going to visit us regularly too, for those of us who would like to try a taster session.

> There is a small annual membership fee of £5 and weekly subscription of £3, which includes tea, coffee and biscuits. If you would like to give us a try, the first week is free.
>
> We think you’ll agree that this is good value for your money – an enjoyable morning with plenty of brews, meeting new friends who understand your pain and its problems, together with gentle exercise, discussion, quizzes, lots of laughter and much more.
>
> There are occasional social outings and we have lots of exciting ideas for the future.
>
> Meetings are held every Tuesday morning, from 9.30 to12.30 at Marton United Reformed Church Hall, Wordsworth Ave ( off Preston Old Road ) Blackpool. FY3 9UZ.
>
> If you would like any further information or would like to see what we do please feel free to pop in to one of our meetings or phone Sue, our Chairperson, on 0750 5210402.
